There are a number of things to experience in our beautifully restored historic church. During Advent your will notice the Crib, - which reminds us of the humble setting for the birth of Jesus.
The Circular shape of our Christmas Wreath represents eternity, reminding us of God's infinite love and presence in our lives. The greenery used to decorate it symbolizes everlasting life and hope given to us by Jesus. Three purple and one pink candle are lit each week.
The candle first represents hope, as we await the arrival of our saviour. The second signifies peace, inner peace, and how we present this peace to others. The third rose-coloured candle embodies joy. Lit on Gaudete Sunday, it serves as a reminder to rejoice that the coming of Christ is near. The fourth candle represents love. It symbolizes the boundless love of God, which we are called to share with others.
You wall also see the Jesse tree in the church. The decorations are symbols representing the lineage of Jesus from Adam to Christ. Each Sunday in Advent at the beginning of our Mass’, different symbols are attached to the tree with a prayer which explains the symbol’s significance.
Catholic Christians will be coming for confession and Mass in the days before Christmas, so our Christmas Crawl times will be from 1 – 3pm each day.
Family Christmas Mass at 8pm
Midnight Mass
Masses at 7am, 9am and 11am.
